YouTube announced Tuesday the upcoming launch of a streaming television service in the United States competing directly with the traditional offering of cable or toll channels.
YouTube TV targets younger generations looking to watch info, movies or series with a simple subscription and an internet connection.
The service, which will be for the time being reserved for the United States, is for those "who want to watch what they want, when they want, in the way they want and without commitment," detailed Susan Wojcicki , During a press conference broadcast in streaming.
Its users will be able to watch on their connected devices (tablets, telephones ...) the main American general channels (ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC ...) as well as sports channels and other programs, detailed the group.
YouTube TV, scheduled to launch in the coming months, will cost $ 35 per month for an account open to six different users and will compete with the "restricted packages" offered by Dish or AT & T cable operators.
The service, which should eventually be extended to other countries, will also allow programs to be recorded for viewing at a later date.
