The Samuel Eto'o Pavilion for Pediatric Emergency and Resuscitation was inaugurated on Monday in Douala (the economic capital of Cameroon) in the presence of the former captain of the indomitable Lions and local officials, notably the Minister of Health André Mama Fouda.
The Pavilion, which was housed at the Laquintinie Hospital in Douala, was totally financed by the Cameroonian football star, for a total cost estimated at 700 million CFA francs (about 1.4 million dollars).
Samuel Eto'o was, on the occasion, made a citizen of honor of Douala.
Speaking about the motives for his move, he said, "With my first significant salary, I decided to take actions to make even a modest contribution to our society."
The "Pavillon Samuel Eto'o Fils", will reduce the infant mortality rate and effective management of the pediatric emergency, said the Minister of Public Health.
